- Beehiiv launched webinars supporting up to 10,000 attendees with video, screen sharing, and chat.
- Creators can charge in multiple currencies for webinars or run them free to grow audience.
- Metered paywalls let creators set 1 to 10 free posts before a subscription prompt, with flexible reset periods.
- Paid trials give creators full control over length, price, and billing cycle — like $1 for 30 days.
- AI podcast analytics plug into Claude or ChatGPT (opt-in) for audience insights without dashboard-hunting.
- Beehiiv crossed $28M ARR, 400M unique readers, 50,000 active users, and sent 10 billion emails in Q1 2026.
Beehiiv announced Thursday a set of product updates that push the LA-based newsletter platform further into all-in-one creator territory. The new features — webinars, AI podcast analytics, metered paywalls, and paid trials — stack directly onto the native podcast hosting it added last month. Beehiiv is now competing on the same surface as Patreon, Substack, Zoom, Kit, and Ghost.
Beehiiv Launches Webinars for Up to 10,000 Attendees
The webinar rollout is the loudest signal in the announcement. Creators can now host live events for up to 10,000 people directly inside Beehiiv, with video, screen sharing, and chat built in. They can either charge admission in multiple currencies or run the event free as a top-of-funnel acquisition tool.
The feature unlocks use cases Beehiiv couldn’t previously serve without a third-party stack: educational content, product demos, community-building, paid masterclasses. For creators already running a paid newsletter on Beehiiv, the webinar is a zero-lift upsell. For creators outside, it removes one of the few remaining reasons to keep Zoom Webinars in the stack.
Metered Paywalls and Paid Trials for Newsletter Creators
On the monetization side, Beehiiv is making it easier to convert new readers without slamming the door. The new metered paywall lets creators specify how many posts a reader gets — one post, five, ten — before the subscription prompt fires. The reset period is fully tunable: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or never.
Paid trials are the other new lever. Creators set length, price, and billing cycle themselves: $1 for 30 days, $5 per month for three months, or any structure they want. Both features are standard tactics at publishers and SaaS companies, and their arrival on Beehiiv closes another gap against Substack’s simpler free-or-paid model.
AI Analytics and Native Podcast Hosting for Creators
Beehiiv’s March podcast launch is already paying off. The company reports that 50% of existing users have migrated podcasts to the platform and 25% have launched brand-new podcasts since the feature shipped. To capitalize, Beehiiv is layering in AI analytics this week: creators can now ask natural-language questions of their podcast data — episode performance, listener geography, drop-off — and get direct answers without scrolling through dashboards.
Analytics are opt-in, and creators choose which AI tool is connected. Beehiiv supports both Claude and ChatGPT as backends. The company also told TechCrunch that video podcasts will launch in Q2, with ads expected later in 2026.
Beehiiv at $28M ARR: The Creator Economy All-in-One Play
The metrics Beehiiv disclosed alongside the product drop make the strategy legible. The company said Q1 2026 was the best quarter in its history: 400 million unique readers across the platform, over 50,000 active users, 10 billion emails sent, and $28 million in annual recurring revenue reached this month. For a five-year-old company, that is a credible run at all-in-one.
The pitch to creators is simple: stop duct-taping five tools. Newsletters, podcasts, paid membership, webinars, and now AI-powered analytics live on one platform with one billing surface. The creator economy remains fragmented, and Beehiiv is making the most aggressive consolidation play of any player. If video podcasts and ads ship on schedule, Patreon, Substack, and Kit will be fighting on ground Beehiiv has already mapped.
